Alaska moon
leaning into the fire i allowing it to capture me as its own. the cold starts to disappear as the warmth spreads across my shoulders. my back and my chest glow gracefully in the dark night
i sit amidst a camp of those who sleep though i am not tired it’s difficult to sleep with the moon so large over my head but the beauty of tonight keeps me warm inside.
i see the glow of the stars twinkling across the misty lake, and watch the shadows of the night dance across your skin. so many nights i have laid down touching our bodies to one another, but still i am alone.
i have slept under your chin, counting the beat of your heart to know the rhythm of your sleep. but i have yet to know the love that is inside of you. i have heard that your love is sung to those that know you, who call you their own. but they do not possess the song of love inside you. but i will.
for i live in fairytales, and make believes maybe i name tiny wings and furry tails. maybe i can fly like an eagle and save the day, because, maybe your just a girl like all the rest with wonderful stories that sound better then life. or maybe, you came to help me find that happy endings really do come true.
