bring me sleep

i never see him, he never ventures out during the day. but, i've learned how to listen for him. late in the evening, when the house is asleep. i lay on the verge of nothing, and that is when he comes. after my eyes are hurting and tired. sore for my long attempts to sleep. he slides down the walk, in that constant click and thump only a skate board could provide. click, click, thump, thump. easy not to rush the evening, happiest alone in the night. he is my darkness. slumberous freedom, something i only dream about with him.
