questions/answers

long walks lead into
thoughts that sometimes never seem to find us
in the end, when we are tired from placing our feet
one in front of another, sometimes the answers never come
but it’s our job to questions.
wonder.
be curious about the things that rattle in the darkness of our mind
and still no answers.
the pace of our day and the need in our hearts
pushes us to keep on walking, finding our own answers
discovering new questions
wondering why we can’t find the truth when that’s all we really need
the truth, that our grandparents knew
plotted their lives to, survived on
how could we be missing all that coming down are family tree
maybe something’s in our way
maybe we don’t need the answers anymore
we’ve gotten so use to making them up as we go along
with any song that those around us are willing to sing
maybe we have taken our course by the placement in the sky
sucking on the starts like candy, sweet on their illumination.
but it all comes down to the moment we take it all into our hands
to find that we are the masters of our own destiny
and if we aren’t going to stop moving long enough to listen to the answer
who cares when we ask a question.
